Klinik Pintar (Medigo) Get 5 mil USD, New Invest
Altara, others inject $5m into Jakarta-based Klinik Pintar
Bandung, Informatika News Line (11/12/2023)
Klinik Pintar, a Jakarta-based healthtech startup, has raised US$5 million in a series A1 funding round led by Altara Ventures. Golden Gate Ventures, Skystar Capital, and Venturra, among others, also chipped in.
Klinik Pintar was founded in 2018, then known as Medigo. The company manages clinics on a full-ownership and partnership basis, which offer services such as doctor consultation, laboratory tests, and vaccinations. It also helps digitalize third-party clinics’ operations through its software offering and collaborates with corporations to offer healthcare services for their employees.
Harya Bimo, founder of Klinik Pintar, told Tech in Asia that a number of its partner clinics have reached profitability. Klinik Pintar operates 23 clinics, with plans to expand that figure to 100 by 2025.
Additionally, the company said that around 1,500 third-party clinics across Indonesia use its management software. Overall, the startup’s tech is already being used by over 5% of all clinics in the archipelago.
Besides expanding its network of clinics, Klinik Pintar plans to develop a new hybrid product that could “connect both of our SaaS and physical models,” said Bimo. While the founder did not provide further details on the hybrid model, he said the company is piloting the product and planning to launch it next year.
With its expansion efforts, Klinik Pintar is poised to capitalize on Indonesia’s growing healthcare market.
“By providing first- and third-party clinics with best-in-class tools, the company is well positioned to expand rapidly across Indonesia,” says Gavin Teo, general partner at Altara Ventures.
Without going into specifics, the company said it has generated a 120% year-on-year increase in revenue in 2023. It is eyeing a 3x growth by next year, riding on the healthcare market opportunity the country offers.
Within the next three years, Klinik Pintar aims to be the largest tech-driven clinic network in Indonesia, “with more than 5,000 clinics using our system and 150 clinics under our management.”
